Now available from Ti Exhausts is this silenced Y-Pipe for the Nissan R35 GTR. Made from titanium so super lightweight compared with the normal steel versions. When removing the standard catted y-pipe noise levels increase so this has a silencer fitted to keep them at a sensible level. More details and pricing can be found here.

I think most of you know about how great this ECU is. Used to great effect on our own Time Attack Supras plus helping my own Supra to produce over 1300bhp on the dyno last year.

This is now the ECU of choice when you are modifying your Supra, Skyline, Impreza, EVO, etc. etc. Whether it’s a stock turbo’d road car or a 1000+bhp monster this is the ECU to use. The ECU is being used on road, race, drift and drag cars all over the world, all being fully controlled by the Syvecs.

Fitted with a K&N panel filter and remapped to give around 370 lb/ft torque and 250bhp approx this gives the car that extra punch and driveability thats missing on a standard factory car. I had a nice box of goodies arrive today, as you can see I’ve gone for the best parts on the market:

Carillo h beam conrods, Ferrea 1mm oversize valves, double valve springs, titanium retainers/locators, valve seals along with Titan Motorsports head and main studs. This should insure the engine will take whatever I want to throw at it if I ever decide to go with any extra power over the targetted 900bhp, lets face it its bound to happen!

Garage Whifbitz twin wastegate/twin scroll single turbo kit for the Nissan R32, R33 and R34 GTR RB26DETT.
Using our experience gained with our hugely successful Toyota Supra turbo kits we have created what we think to be the best turbo kit now available for the RB26 engine.
Our Supra turbo kits have fast become the one to have and is now considered to be one of the best in the world. Proving to be 100% reliable, in 3 years of manufacturing them we have never had a warranty claim. Race developed and proven on our own Supra’s in Time Attack and Eurosaloon Race Series they have been put through the toughest of tests.
The RB26 kit has been built around the same principles and everything we have learnt with the Supra kit over the years has been applied accordingly.

The kits come with the following parts:

The kit uses the Borg Warner T4 turbo range, starting from the S362 (62mm) up to the S383(83mm), power ranging from around 550bhp to over 1300bhp and everything in between. You also have different versions of the Borg Warner turbos. The std Borg Warner turbo and a Bullseye Power Batmowheel billet version. With the Batmowheel version you get more power and better spool up when compared with the std Borg Warner turbos, the best of both worlds.
We can also supply other makes of turbo with the kit if desired or a setup kit minus the turbo if you want to source the turbo yourself.

Using our own T4 manifold using a twin wastegate divided setup making this a true twin scroll design which greatly improves turbo spool up and response. In back to back testing on the Supra kit we gained 1100rpm spool up over an HKS T4 manifold, the only thing that was changed was the manifold and wastegates. As you can imagine this massively improves driveability especially when using the larger big power turbos.
The manifolds are made from high quality 321 stainless steel, back purged and triple pass welded for seamless internal welds. It comes with a 3 year anti crack warranty and as you can see from the pictures it is a top quality work of art.

The kit also comes with 2x Turbosmart Compgate 40mm wastegates. Unlike other kits out there you have the option of having the wastegates routing back into the downpipe or open to the atmosphere if you want to make a lot of noise!

4” stainless steel downpipe and midpipe bolting directly to your existing cat back exhaust. 3” or 4” V band (depending on turbo used) at the turbo end and a 2 bolt flange or 4” v band flange where it bolts to the cat back exhaust. The downpipe comes fitted with an O2 bung fitted for your wideband O2 sensor.

Goodridge braided oil feed line, billet aluminium oil drain flange and braided hose
using the stock oil drain on the block.

4” or 5” polished alloy intake pipe with K&N air filter
3” polished alloy intercooler pipe with silicon hoses to connect to intercooler

As you can see from the pictures they look great and are also very comfortable whilst holding you in place properly unlike the standard Toyota seats. Tomei 272 Procams ordered up

Small update, after a bit of deliberation I went with the Tomei Procams 272 In 11.30mm & Ex 11mm lift, they will be with my head machine shop tomorrow so they can get started on the head for me. I know this will be a good choice knowing how good the Tomei products.

Really getting excited about all this now, my wallet isn’t though!

R35 GTR engine is stripped, what a mess!

Well its all apart and the good news is it looks like both heads look like they have survived. One is perfect and untouched, the other side which has the piston damage will need 4 valves and seats recut, wont know for sure until I get the valves out of them.

I’m going to be ordering up all the bits tomorrow for it:

Mahle pistons
Carillo H beam rods
Titan Motorsports head and main studs
New crank, used block, new oil pump
Going for a full race spec head, ported and fitted with Ferrea valves, Ferrea titanium retainers and dual valve springs
Just waiting to hear back about some cams I should be trying out for a UK company.
Cometic head gaskets

Cant wait to start putting it all together now. Next step once the engine is built is to have some exhaust manifolds made for the Whifbitz R35 GTR turbo kit. Still specing the turbos at the moment but I think I’ll be using Borg Warner S200 series turbos with billet internals along with Turbosmart external wastegates. More news on that at a later date though.

R35 engine is out and the strip down has begun

Well, I’m getting somewhere at last, found a few hours spare to start stripping the engine down, there is a rather large hole in the side of the block with the rod jammed into it. Its also taken the sump and bell housing with it to, what a mess!
